We will create several drawings using guided meditation and simple exercises, creating art to be present – and being present to create art. During the “open studio” portion you are welcomed to begin a painting with us, or you may bring current artwork-in-progress from home, to continue working on in class. Open studio will also feature an in-depth painting tutorial, and be a casual forum to mingle, discuss making a living as an artist, and get 1 on 1 consultation.

“Sir Frederic Leighton – Flaming June (Remix)” by Randal Roberts
Randal Roberts is an internationally recognized self-taught painter. Having identified as an artist his whole life, at the age of 30 he was inspired to at last quit the factory job to dedicate himself to art full time after meeting Alex and Allyson Grey. After a yearlong soul-searching road trip across the U.S., Randal found a community at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, where he lived and worked for seven years. During this time, he began building a body of artwork fusing various wisdom traditions, iconic symbolism, and profound personal experiences and relationships with the flow of ornamental design. Since then, he has become a celebrated live-performance and studio painter. The organic sensibility and attention to detail in Randal’s paintings reveal his intuitive direction to “emphasize what you love about each brushstroke.” He has lived in the beautiful NY Hudson Valley, the beloved San Francisco Bay, and is currently based in Boulder, CO.
Morgan’s paintings are manifestations of dreams and visions. Her studies and travels to understand philosophies, religions, and cultures of the world, inspired her to visually explore our connection as human beings. Mandalas are graphic representations of the universe – the multiplicity, and the singularity; the macrocosm, and microcosm. By re-interpreting and merging multi-cultural archetypes and symbols, she hopes to help visualize our inherent connections to each other and Source. “If we can see ourselves in each other, we can hopefully understand the importance of peace.”
“Metamorphosis” by Morgan Mandala
‘Morgan Mandala is Colorado-based artist who weaves her visions together in both the studio as well as the live environment. She has exhibited her work and painted live at a multitude of festivals including Rootwire, Sonic Bloom, Envision, Lucidity, and more. Her visions span a variety of memes and themes, but can often be distilled down to the unlimited majesty of the nature world as well as the underground shamanic heartbeats of humanity. Inspired by nature – particularly the Amazon rainforest – Morgan is dedicated to reintroducing organic wisdom into the biosphere with a particularly bright and hopeful future in mind’. ~Jason Takahashi
