with Erik Davis, Alex & Allyson
Welcome to the era of Re-Animism, a renewed time of allies and tricksters, angels and imps. In most indigenous cosmologies, everything in the world has a life of its own, while the modern West has seen the world as a dead machine, a program to hack. But the very success of this mechanistic worldview is staging the emergence of a new animism. Technology itself is growing more enchanted, as we face a brave new world of robots, animated bots, immersive virtual realities, and Artificial Intelligences. At the same time, environment crisis is driving a re-enchantment of the earth, and a recognition that all manner of living creatures deserve a voice of their own. Everywhere, people are encountering the strange and marvelous agency of things, creatures, plants, machines, minds. How do we live with all these Others?
Join author, Erik Davis for insight from his newest book, Nomad Codes: Adventures in Modern Esoterica. Alex & Allyson will join into a interview and discussion that will follow Erik’s presentation.

Weekend Workshop with David Heskin & Aloria Weaver
August 12th – 14th
Join premier artists, David Heskin & Aloria Weaver in this weekend workshop on transforming the ancient symbolic language of geometry into art and contemplative practice. By drawing connections with the geometer’s tools, the compass and straight edge, connections of meaning are drawn within the our creative mind. Sacred geometry, through finite boundaries, can express infinite inner worlds. Nature emulates idealized forms at every scale of life, from crystalline molecular structures to galactic formations. From two-dimensional shapes to three-dimensional solids, simple tools can map complex, intuitive shapes evidenced in art inspired by the fabric of our consciousness.
Identifying sacred numerical themes in art and architecture reveal profound messages across time and beyond language, connecting us with global culture. Timeless principles of harmonic proportion are embedded in creations by art masters. Goethe called geometry “frozen music,” referring to the compositional cohesion of the picture plane. Harmonic principles in action are plainly evident throughout classical and modern art.
Bring drawing pencils, sketchbook, compass and ruler.
In a meditative exploration, the group will collaborate on a drawing.
World renowned artist team, David Heskin & Aloria Weaver, inaugural instructors at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art, painted side-by-side collaborative murals in CoSM’s Mushroom Cafe.
